Check which Transit you are buying
The Transit range covers different sizes, payloads and specifications. Record the precise model, derivative, registration or advert link, mileage if used, dealer name and written price. Confirm whether VAT, registration and delivery are included. A provider must be satisfied with the van and supplier as well as the applicant.
Ask about the refusal
The dealership may be able to confirm which finance provider considered the case and whether the information submitted was accurate. It may not be told every reason. Check the company’s details and ask how any proposed further credit search will be recorded before proceeding.
Consider deposit and affordability
Write down the cash deposit available, the amount to finance and a realistic monthly budget. Do not use all available working capital simply to make a transaction fit. Ask for the full written cost and all conditions, including fees and any final payment, before deciding.
Check the vehicle independently
If it is a used Transit, check service evidence, MOT history, condition, payload and any outstanding finance as appropriate. The exact body and weight matter to the job. Finance acceptance does not confirm the van is mechanically sound or appropriate for your work.
